International Rounds 2019 completed!

The 2019 International Rounds of the 12thannual Price Media Law Moot Court Competition took place in Oxford, England on 8 – 12 April 2019.

This year we had 36 teams representing a diverse range of countries (including  Albania, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, France, Hungary, Iran, Latvia, Lebanon, Palestine, Philippines, South Africa, USA, Zimbabwe etc) argued a complex Competition Case on free speech, privacy and the regulation of social media before distinguished benches of lawyers, academics and practitioners from the media industry serving as judges. The quality of arguments was extraordinary. Competition culminated with the team from the University of Philippines prevailing over the team from National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in the final. The Final Bench comprised of former and sitting judges from international and domestic courts : Nicolas Bratza (European Court of Human Rights, retired), Nona Tsotsoria (European Court of Human Rights, 2008 – 2018), Peter Sam Shivute (Supreme Court of Namibia), Kate O’Regan (South African Constitutional Court 1994-2009).
