The fifth of the Regional Rounds for the 2017 Price Moot Court Competition to take place was the Americas Round in New York. Great organisation was again led by our dear colleague Ms Jocelyn Hackett.
We are happy that Americas Round hosted involved different universities, from Bahamas, Brazil, Canada and USA. Before the Moot kicked off expert discussion “The New Counter-terrorism and Countering Violent Extremism: Speech Regulation, Private Companies, and Free Expression” moderated by Monroe Price was held. We had following great speakers that join the discussion Hugh Handeyside from the ACLU National Security Project, Drew Mitnick from AccessNow, Christina Nemr from the Global Center on Cooperative Security, Stefaan Verhulst from NYU Governance Lab and Professor Michele Rosenfeld from Cardozo Law School.
The final results of the competition are available here.
